video of the day When we climbed La Roussette(3262m), i watched for a possible way to climb La Cassorte from this side also, instead i saw a possible route to climb Mont Rouges d’Arolla(3314m) which stays next to La Cassorte, between Col des Ignes and Col de Riedmatten. This beatiful Sunday we returned to Arolla, we used the same route to reach Les Fontanesses, just need to follow the lifts, before reaching col de la forclette turned left and passed the lake at 2900m, from this point i saw no cairns, my wife and Xarah stood at the lake while i climbed to the Mont Rouges d’Arolla, first direction SW until 3000m where i turned to NW, always searching for the best way to progress, i arrived at the south ridge at about 3300m, at the summit there is a weather station, to reach this point there is a small section equipped with a cable, some passages of I, never hard, i reached the summit after 2h45m of hike, what a nice 360 view. After half hour i started the descent, i joined the lake at 2900m after half hour descent, then we returned to Arolla by the Col de la Forclette.
