video of the day

Weird this winter, once again it did about 6/7 degrees at 2000m, it’s not normal for a month of february, so i decided to do a hike with my dog.
We went to the Bern district, most precisely to Lenk, in Zweisimmen area.
I started the hike at the train station in Lenk, i start by heading N by a road to join the NW ridge of the Schatthorn(2085m) at about 1550m, at Gibel.
Once at the ridge i found much more snow than expected, with 2h30m of hike i reached the summit at 2070m where there is a Cross, i ate something and enjoyed the 360 view.
After that i continued SE to make the traverse of the summit and in order to do a loop, between the point 2070 and 2085m there are a couple of sections where the ridge is very thin, precaution needed, once at 2085m the path turns East and i joined a small col where i start the descent towards Lenk, always by a nice marked path, i reached the starting point at about 5 p.m. , nice hike of about 4h30m, 14km and 1000m of height gain.
